The Foundation: Values

This vision and mission are founded on seven core values that underpin everything we do at Breast Cancer Supportive Care:

1. Excellence – to provide the highest standard of care to our patients in order to facilitate their optimal health and wellness.

2. Compassion – to show caring and consideration in the healing relationships we build.

3. Time – to provide our patients with the time they require at appointments to adequately manage their issues and concerns.

4. Respect – to value the God-given dignity and intrinsic worth of each person and to remain mindful of the privilege to speak and act in consideration of others’ needs and points of view.

5. Integrity – to earn trust through ethical behaviour and uncompromising professionalism and to remain aware that we hold the resources from our donors in sacred trust for the fulfillment of our mission.

6. Advocacy – to encourage self-advocacy of breast cancer patients to ensure access to exemplary care throughout the continuum of treatment.

7. Relationships – to commit to open, inclusive, collaborative and respectful relationships among diverse parties with the common interest of improving the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

8. Leadership – to assume an active role in enhancing awareness, medical care and research of breast cancer supportive care and to build effective partnerships dedicated to achieving this goal.
